  • Over 30% of our families receive some form of tuition assistance.
  • All financial information is highly confidential. The members of the committee serve anonymously so as to avoid any confidentiality issues.
  • The committee reviews each application, taking into account the personal circumstances of each applicant.
  • We do not have a maximum income requirement for you to be considered for Financial Assistant.
  • We offer Financial Assistance for all families with children in grade K or above. Tuition for younger siblings in our preschool program will be included in our Flexible Assistance Calculations.

Applying for Financial Assistance

Step 1 – Request a flexible tuition packet

You can make your request in a number of different ways:

  • Check the box requesting the packet on your application form.
  • E-mail skurtis@ssds-hartford.org
  • Call the business office at 561-0700 and request a packet.
  • Stop by the office and pick up a packet.

Step 2 – Complete the application

We use the services of the Princeton School and Student Service to process all applications. The booklet in the packet contains step by step instructions for completing the application.

  • If you have any questions about the process, you may contact Princeton directly or you may speak to someone in our business office who will be happy to help you.
  • In addition to the application, we appreciate any information that you believe would be help the committee make an appropriate final decision.

Step 3 – Award Decision

It is critical for us to ensure that you are receiving the assistance you need. The committee reviews all the information submitted. Once the review is complete, you will receive a letter detailing your tuition commitment for the coming school year. The committee’s goal is to provide you with the assistance you need. If you believe that the adjusted tuition commitment remains beyond your means, the committee will review your application a second time.
