Please continue to bring non-perishable grocery items to the front lobby. Middle School students go to the House of Bread on the first Wednesday of each month to serve lunch and deliver the donations. We have been doing this for over 17 years...longer than any other group, according to the House of Bread!

Parents and Friends of SSDS: We have designed special donation cards that the office will send out for each acknowledgement of $10.00 or greater. This is a wonderful opportunity to support the school as well as honor, send a message of sympathy, or recognize special milestones for friends and loved ones.   If you are interested in making this type of donation please contact Mary Reynolds at 561-0700, 151. You may also send your check and the information to: SSDS, 26 Buena Vista Road, West Hartford, CT 06107 Please include the name and address of the recipient, the nature of the donation or message ( in honor of ) and your name and address.

Did you know that SSDS could benefit from your IRA or Will? There are many ways to provide financial security for the school in the future. In the spring, SSDS will host a grandparents day and Endowment reception on Leaving A Jewish Legacy. Please provide your child's granparents information to the office. There will be no solicitation funds at this event.

Our FOSS Campaign (Friends of Solomon Schechter) began in mid-December and will run through June 30th. Everyone is encouraged to support FOSS as it is the annual campaign that supports our operating fund as well as scholarship, technology, music, art, and theater programs, our library/computer center and many other additional programs that enrich our Judaic and General Studies curriculum. This year, SSDS has a special opportunity to raise significant dollars for FOSS as there is a special dollar for dollar match up to $10,000 provided by a few anonymous donors for new gifts of $100.00 or greater and increases to last year's gift by a minimum of $100.00.These gifts must be received by February 15, 2008. Parents should refer to their SHARE Program for 2007-2008 for FOSS guidelines.
