Giving Opportunities
Our families can support the Solomon Schechter Day School of
Greater Hartford in a number of ways:
Annual Giving: F.O.S.S.-Friends of Solomon Schechter. F.O.S.S, our annual Campaign, is a great way for parents, alumni parents, friends, supporters and businesses to support the Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford with tax-deductible contributions. Our campaign runs annually from August 1 to July 31. Funds received provide much needed scholarship assistance as well as direct support for the day-to-day operations of the school. As our cost per student is higher than our tuition, we depend upon the support of the community to deliver our program each year. We strive for full parent participation in the F.O.S.S. campaign. Your gift, regardless of size, is an important way to assure that the school continues to provide outstanding general and Judiac studies. It’s powerful for us to be able to share with members of our community that 100% of our families support F.O.S.S. We ask that you participate in F.O.S.S. so that we can do so.
Tribute Gifts:
You can also make a Tribute Gift to commemorate life cycle events. Perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, births, graduations, memorials, or to acknowledge special achievements.

The simplest and most widely used means of donating to Schechter is by check. Please make your check payable to the “Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford” (SSDS) and mail it to the school’s Development Office at: 26 Buena Vista Road West Hartford, CT 06107.
Stock
Please consider making a gift of appreciated stocked and securities to Solomon Schechter Day School. This gift may enable you to avoid capital gains and receive a tax benefit. For more information contact Michael Wagner Ext. 169.
Corporate Matching Gifts
Many companies participate in a matching gift program. Employers match the donations to not-for-profit organizations, including educational institutions, made by their active and retired employees and their spouses.
