Application Process


How to Apply to Solomon Schechter Day School

Step 1: Inquire

Interested families should contact the Admissions Office at 860-561-0700 or complete the online inquiry form to schedule a visit and tour, and to receive an admissions packet.

Step 2: Visit and Tour

We encourage families to visit campus during the school day to see Schechter in action. Please plan for a 90-minute visit, which includes a tour and time to answer any questions you may have.

Step 3: Apply

Families should complete and submit the online application as soon as possible. Please note that application is not complete until the next 3 steps are accomplished. For additional assistance, please contact the Admissions office at 860-561-0700.

Step 4: Parent Interview

Once the application has been submitted  you will be contacted to set up a day and time for a parent interview with our Head of School and School Counselor

Step 5: Receipt of Records

Once the application has been submitted you will receive via email a Request for Student Records Form.  We will need a current report card, final report cards from the previous two years, as well as evaluations, reports, and/or testing, for students entering 2-8th grade. Please send this form to your child's current school as soon as possible as your application will not be completed until we receive the requested records as well as a name and phone number of your child's current teacher (all entering students who have attended any childcare before applying). 

Step 6: Student Meeting

Once we have received your child's records you will be contacted  to set up a day and time for your child to meet with our Learning Specialist and School Counselor.  Acceptance decisions will be made and communicated once all of the above steps are complete.
